Youth Mural Projects

Estria has been teaching Spray Can Art classes and workshops since 1993. His first class was with Mark Twain continuation school in San Francisco. This class was for drop out students and it boasted the first 100% attendance in the school's history. His second class which lasted for several years was with Precita Eyes Mural Arts Center in San Francisco. This class was called Urban Youth Arts and was and remains very successful. It developed many talented painters with many murals in San Francisco.

Currently Estria works with the East Side Arts Alliance in the San Antonio and Fruitvale districts of Oakland. ESAA has developed a graffiti arts class called Visual Element. The mission of Visual Element is to train youth in visual arts, political education, business skills, and to become self-sufficient by earning money from painting and designing skills. Classes are free of charge and are available to youth ages 14-19.
